T-6B Primary Flight Training – Contact Stage 1 Practice Test

The correct answer is "Steady state spin" because it accurately represents one of the critical phases that a spin goes through after the initial stages. In a spin scenario, once the aircraft has entered into post-stall gyrations and the incipient spin stage has been initiated, the next phase, when pro-spin controls (controls that enhance the spin) continue to be applied, leads to a steady state spin.

During a steady state spin, the aircraft reaches a consistent rate of rotation and a relatively stable descent path, characterized by a particular airspeed and rate of yaw. This phase occurs when aerodynamic forces and weight stabilize the spin, making it distinct from the earlier phases where the spin is still evolving and has not yet settled into a consistent pattern.

Understanding this progression is essential for pilots, as recognizing the phases of a spin can help them effectively manage recovery procedures when necessary. The other options do not represent a phase that follows incipient spin under the condition of pro-spin control input. For instance, "Successful recovery" indicates a return to controlled flight rather than a phase of the spin, while "Full stall" refers to a stall condition rather than the subsequent extended spin, and "Accelerated descent" is not a recognized spin phase but rather a
